HPCI News: Record Participation in Leapfrog Hospital Survey Nationally and in Iowa

A record number of U.S. hospitals participated in the 2016 Leapfrog survey with over 1,850 hospitals taking part. Seven (7) Iowa hospitals participated: 1) Allen Hospital, Waterloo; 2) Grinnell Regional Medical Center; 3) Iowa Lutheran Hospital, Des Moines; 4) Iowa Methodist Medical Center, Des Moines; 5) Mercy Medical Center, Des Moines; 6) Mercy Medical Center – West Lakes, West Des Moines; 7) Methodist – West Hospital, West Des Moines. Thanks to these hospitals for making patient safety and transparency a top priority.
Also, Iowa consumers and patients have hospital quality and patient safety information available to them through Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grades. These publically available grades are available for thirty-two (32) Iowa hospitals at this time. They are the larger hospitals that represent over 80% of total hospitals expenses in Iowa.
